Julian Assange, founder of
WikiLeaks, has endured arbitrary detention, incarceration due to weaponised legal proceedings at the hands of powerful governments.
In doing so, we stand against the persecution of Julian Assange , a persecution that threatens freedom everywhere.
The charges against Julian date back over a decade, to when WikiLeaks, in collaboration with The Guardian, The New York Times, Der Spiegel and many others, published the Afghanistan and Iraq war logs. The indictment describes the kinds of activities conducted by news organizations and journalists every day, including obtaining and publishing true information of public interest, communication between a publisher and a source, and using encryption tools. And includes the publishing of over 76,000 logs from
The Afghan War Diary, 2004-2010.Through coordinated action, this project aims to uphold the preservation of these significant logs, ensuring continuous access in an authentic, immutable and uncensorable state.
In doing so, we stand against the unjust prosecution that Julian faced, a prosecution that press freedom advocates criticize as an attack on journalistic freedom.
A first of its kind, Project Spartacus invites supporters to participate as citizen journalists by collectively publishing The Afghan War Logs to the Bitcoin blockchain.
The project launches with a spirit of inclusivity and openness, inviting contributions and participation from all individuals who support the project goals.
Funds raised will not be for profit, but instead donated to the most steadfast protectors of these cherished freedoms.
Join us in our mission to stand in solidarity with Julian and to demonstrate the power of decentralization in the fight for press freedom and free speech.
